Charlotte Charny

Charlotte has spent most of her life as an expatriate and an avid traveler before recently returning to her native New York City. Many of her experiences from childhood to the present have served as material for her writing.

 

Her first book, a collection of poems – The Beloved Particular – encompasses familiar and universal themes from time and place to family and love.

 

Her second book, a collection of reflections – Take My Greyhound, Please and Other Reflections – focuses on our connections in the landscape of time and place.

 

Her third book – Freshly Baked Words – is a collection of invented words that reflects years of cooking and enjoying food in different places.

 

Charlotte has three much-loved sons, all educators, who love to travel the world as well. She also has a cat, Lilly, who has made cameo appearances in Freshly Baked Words and who helps to remind her that almost everything is a matter of perspective.
